The Styku is a 3D body scanner by Styku, an American manufacturer. Styku offers an easy and non-invasive body scanning experience. The subject simply stands on the turntable and holds the pose for 30 to 40 seconds until the rotation is complete.
Styku body scanner applications
This 3D body scanner is designed for professional applications such as:
Fitness and sports: 3D scanners are a great way for fitness clubs and gyms to keep their clients engaged via body metrics tracking and 3D visualisation of their evolutions and goals.
Aesthetics: 3D scans are more accurate than 2D pictures, therefore they can be used in healthcare to track the evolution of a patients body shape, composition and posture.
Styku: how it works
The Styku app gives professionals the ability to perform a full body scan, view 3D models, extract measurements, track changes in body shape, calculate fitness and health metrics, and much more.
Once a model is created, the 3D body scanner advanced feature recognition technology automatically finds detailed landmarks on the body (e.g. hip, bust point, etc), which are used to extract circumferences, volume and surface areas for various regions of the body.
Styku features
The Styku 3D body scanner comes with:
A turntable for the subject to stand on (maximum weight of 250kg).
A Microsoft Kinect V2: a powerful 3D sensor extracting millions of data points in less than 30 seconds.
A lightweight aluminum enclosure and stand to protect 3D Camera. Easy to move and re-position for small spaces.
The Apogee+ boasts higher power and speed, providing practitioners with up to 20 J/cm2 at an 18 mm spot size and 2 Hz.
The clinical proven 755 nm Alexandrite laser’s high melanin absorption characteristics and proven long-term results make it a wavelength for excellent hair reduction, permanently reducing hair by an average of 79% after just three treatments.1 The 755 nm Alexandrite can also provide excellent clearance of epidermal pigment lesions, including age spots, sunspots, and freckles.
Quick, Effective Treatments
The Apogee + is built on the proven technology of the Apogee Aesthetic Workstation but provides high fluence with large spot sizes for deeper penetration, faster procedures, and optimal results.
A System That Can Grow With Your Practice
Don’t be locked into a laser that can’t grow with you. As your practice develops and your treatments grow, you don’t want your system to be obsolete. The Apogee is easily upgradable to an Elite+ Aesthetic Workstation with a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser.

Syneron Medical Ltd’s PicoWay™ picosecond device made its international debut at the 23rd European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, October 8-12, 2014.
PicoWay is a dual-wavelength device, with 532-nm and 1064-nm wavelengths. It utilizes proprietary PicoWay technology to generate picosecond pulses for the treatment of pigmented lesions and tattoos, including recalcitrant tattoos.
The staged launch begins in the international market during October 2014 and will continue in the United States in the first half of 2015.
The PicoWay technology is integrated into the Candela™ platform, which ensures superior performance and low cost of ownership.
PicoWay is CE marked and pending US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance. Syneron anticipates that it will receive FDA clearance for PicoWay by the end of 2014.
“With the shortest pulse on the market, PicoWay requires lower fluences and yields faster clinical results than traditional Q-switched lasers,” says Tina Alster, MD, a clinical professor of dermatology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, and one of the investigators in the multicenter clinical trials of the new device. “The Nd:YAG wavelength can safely treat a wider variety of skin types, and, along with the reduced fluence, minimizes thermal injury to the skin. I believe that the PicoWay will further revolutionize tattoo removal.”

The new AccuVein AV500 is the latest in vein visualization from AccuVein. AV500 displays veins using a bright green projection with three brightness settings and an inverse mode. The green vein projection shows veins in as both dark lines on a bright background or as light lines on a dark background (inverse mode).
Fotona is announcing a new model of Q-switched laser system StarWalker MaQX to be introduced in 2017.
Combining four complementary wavelengths and 14 laser modalities, the StarWalker functions as a highly versatile, multipurpose system that performs a wide range of applications in aesthetics. StarWalker’s energy, four colors and proprietary FracTAT™ procedure also make StarWalker an industry leading tattoo removal laser system.
Since its introduction, Fotona’s QX MAX has been globally recognized as an ultraperformance Q-switched laser system. The StarWalker represents the next important evolutionary step forward and takes the system to an even higher level.
StarWalker’s third-generation technology combines the unsurpassed range of pulse duration modes of Fotona’s VSP (Variable Square Pulse) technology with the revolutionary capability of ASP™ to adapt the temporal structure of laser pulses to the biophotonic dynamics of laser-tissue interaction. StarWalker is capable of delivering up to an unprecedented 10 J of Q-switched energy in one giant structured MaQX pulse for treating epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions, and includes long-pulse infrared VERSA3 and green VERDE™ modes for enhanced vascular treatments.
ASP: Third Generation Technology
StarWalker® and its groundbreaking ASP (Adaptive Structured Pulse) technology represent a cosmic shift forward for the medical and aesthetic laser industry.
This third-generation technology combines the unsurpassed range of pulse duration modes of Fotona’s VSP (Variable Square Pulse) technology with the revolutionary capability of ASP technology to adapt the temporal structure of laser pulses to the bio-photonic dynamics of laser-tissue interaction.
Power of a pico Laser with an Energy of a Q-Switched Laser
StarWalker’s unique TMD (Transverse Mode Discrimination) laser oscillator technology combined with the ASP pulse control delivers very short (5 nsec) Q-switched pulses consisting of a high energy train of ultra-short bursts of energy in trillionths of a second, enabling photomechanical impact to shatter tiny skin targets without injury to the surrounding skin. StarWalker’s technology thus combines the high energy capabilities of nanosecond lasers with the ultrashort pulse peak powers of traditional picosecond lasers.
Modulated Acoustics Q-Switched (MaQX) Laser System – Unmatched Q-Switched Pulse Energy
Fotona’s StarWalker laser system features the entire range of super-short pulse technologies in a single, high-performance solution. StarWalker’s patented MaQX pulse modalities produce powerful bursts of laser energy that photoacoustically break apart skin pigmentations into smaller, more easily eliminated particles.
Based on revolutionary ASP technology, StarWalker is capable of delivering up to an unprecedented 10 J of Q-switched energy in one giant structured MaQX pulse.
The unique MaQX high energy capability of StarWalker enables the generation of a higher energy photoacoustic effect at the treatment site, leading to more effective and faster treatments.
Additionally, with high MaQX energies, larger spotsizes can be used resulting in more homogeneous treatments of even deeper lying skin pigments, and therefore with reduced risk of unwanted side effects.

Current methods of endodontic cleaning and shaping are limited, as no current cleaning and shaping technique is able to predictably remove bacteria, biofilm, and tissue from canal systems. In addition, no current instrumentation system touches all canal walls. As a result, bacteria are commonly entombed in the dentinal tubules and isthmuses after endodontic treatment. Today’s “state of the art” is technique-sensitive, operator-sensitive, and greatly affected by anatomic complexity and patient cooperation.1,2
Sonendo Gentle Wave Dental Laser has provided an innovative and unrivaled method designed to create “ultraclean” canals in order to overcome current limitations and challenges. The GentleWave System is capable of removing all tissue, smear layer, biofilm, and bacteria from the tubules to a very deep level that is not typically seen in traditional endodontic treatment.
